Demartek, a Colorado-based research & lab testing firm, has published a new report entitled: NetApp Ethernet Storage Evaluation. The firm conducted performance testing with a FAS3170 w/ FCoE & iSCSI, Cisco Nexus 5010, Windows Server 2008 w/ the QLogic QLE8152 stack, and the open-source workload generator, IOmeter.
Interestingly, the report notes that some of the mixed FCoE & iSCSI numbers (especially random/sequential write workloads) yield HIGHER throughput than pure FCoE -- due to having 2 connections.
These numbers also tend to align to my (internal-only) performance testing with FCoE.
